Lovely and practical day van, carpet lined with sofa bed, multiple USB sockets, small leisure battery and 300w inverter. No reserve set.
I've owned this van for the last 7 years, used it to camp in, carry bulky items in (it can fit a sheet of 8'x4' ply with the doors shut) and occasionally as a comfy escape room for lunch breaks at work. I'm selling it because I've bought a newer van that's ULEZ compliant.

Lovely and practical day van, carpet lined with sofa bed, multiple USB sockets, small leisure battery and 300w inverter. No reserve set.
I’ve owned this van for the last 7 years, used it to camp in, carry bulky items in (it can fit a sheet of 8’x4′ ply with the doors shut) and occasionally as a comfy escape room for lunch breaks at work. I’m selling it because I’ve bought a newer van that’s ULEZ compliant.
Both the sofa and the bed are super comfy, it can be a bit of a faff to change configuration (takes about 10 minutes) but worth it for the comfort. The sofa is metal framed, is bolted to the subframe, and has seatbelts similarly bolted. It’s very sturdy but I’m not sure of safety so I’ve not really used it for carrying people.
MAIN POINTS:Excellent runner with no known problems.12 months MOT, passed with no advisories.Full service history with stamped service book and recent receipts.Current mileage is 236,354, this may go up slightly if I use it in the next week.Last full service done at 229,851K miles on 10th October 2023, so not due for another 11,000 miles or 15 months, whichever is sooner. Service intervals are 18,000 miles or 2 years, but I’ve had it serviced yearly since I’ve had it.Cambelt and tensioner replaced at 211,438 miles, alternator replaced at 225,357 miles, new battery last year.Crankshaft and camshaft sensors replaced last year – a common thing that can go wrong with these engines so one less thing to be concerned about. Sound bodywork – a few cosmetic dents and scrapes (see pictures) as you’d expect with a 20 year old van but no major rust problems and all doors work as they should.Alloy wheels.Engine immobiliser and alarm.Aircon (does work but only a bit – needs an overhaul to be properly cold).Electric side mirrors.Sony stereo with usb socket that you can plug a phone into and have the audio come through the speakers whilst charging it.Plenty of USB charging points (3 at the front, and 2 on the nearside wheel arch with a 12v socket).300w inverter with a small leisure battery under the driver’s seat. This means that you can plug 240v items in, eg a laptop, for a couple of hours without the engine running.Carpet lining makes it more comfortable and warmer than a standard panel van.The sofa bed is metal framed with wooden support slats for the mattress, solid and very comfortable to sit or to sleep on.Very practical and multi-functional – load carrying, mini office, bed. The space in front of the sofa is big enough to take a couple of cycles with no adjustments, just wheel them in.Good amount of storage space under the sofa bed and behind it – I’ve stored a tent, camping kit and all my spare bedding plus sports kit and a couple of guitars with no loss of internal carrying capacity.
THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:The gear change is a bit odd – it will only change into first gear from second gear and not from neutral. It’s been like that since I bought it with no change in how it behaves in the 50,000 miles I’ve driven it. The garage confirmed that there’s no problem with the gearbox, and all gears work with no problems. It seems to be the mechanism attached to the gearstick. I got used to it whilst driving it back from Bristol where I bought it, and it’s never bothered me enough to get it fixed. The electric passenger window is slow to operate. This is because about 5 years ago someone smashed the original and I replaced it but it’s been slow since then. It works fine, just not quickly. The service light is on, but it’s been like this since I bought the van. Servicing it doesn’t change it, and the garage has investigated it and there are no known faults with the engine. The airbag light came on after I got it MOTd. It’s done this on and off since I’ve had the van. As it’s been an intermittent problem that hasn’t affected the running of the van I’ve not looked into it.The alarm can go off in hot weather if there isn’t a plug (usually a bit of tape) in the side door mechanism to keep the sensor in place when the door’s shut. It’s a common issue with these vans (I looked it up online when it first happened) and is due to the metal contacts expanding in the heat. It’s totally sorted by that simple and basic fix.
That’s it! Please do message me if you’ve any questions.
It’s a great van, I’m sad to see it go as it’s my favourite four wheeled vehicle I’ve owned to date. If I didn’t need a van that’s ULEZ compliant I wouldn’t be selling it. But I do, so it’s time for it to find a new home.
Happy bidding! 🙂
