The van has a few issues and would be suitable for anyone that knows how to fix them or willing to spend money getting it fixedGood points is a few years ago the Engine was re built with a knew Timing Chain.But since I’ve owned it over the last 2 years nothing has been done with it and now recently when going over the 3000 revs mark only sometimes the coolent or water temperature gauge goes into the red so i wack the heater on full then the gauge drifts back to normal then can sometimes drift back to red again which is odd because when i pull over and lift the bonnett the water coolent seems normal temperature and so does the engine?Black smoke also sometimes flys out the exhaust especially in the morning on first start up. Oddly on the odd occasion when the van is turned off after this event occurs it doesn’t always re-start immediately then i have to wait about 10 minutes then it will start again it all seems to be related ? Because non of this ever happened before.It seems when the van has cleared itself And no more black smoke flys out the exhaust, then everything goes back to normal again and the gauge stops rising.A couple of Mechanics have said it’s either the EGR Valve also might be thermostat or a air lock or air flow problem or sensor?The water has no oil in it and the oil looks good with no water in it, and Mechanics say its Not the head gasket.Another issue is over the last few months I have had to hold reverse gear with my hand on the gear itself or it will jump out, but all the other gears work fine and do not jump out of gear. The MOT is about to run out.Hence the Price.
