This is an ex-race van, primarily used for transporting (towing) a race car, tools, and equipment, as well as providing sleeping and other facilities. It has been off the road since August 2020, parked on private land. This van underwent a campervan electrical conversion designed to support extended use of electrical amenities.
Electrical Conversion Details:Leisure Battery System with External Hook-up.Auxiliary leisure battery housed in an external access panel with an isolator switch.Large blue CEE 17 socket for external power hook-up, allowing connection to mains electricity at campsites or other facilities.Internal 240V power outlets and interior lighting, managed through an internal fuse box for circuit protection.Split charge relay connecting the main vehicle battery to the auxiliary battery, ensuring both batteries charge while driving.Additional Features:Equipped with a tow bar and electrical connection.4-bar roof rack.Rear Mounted LadderAdditional locks fitted for added security.Exterior:Bodywork requires attention. Various spots of rust and corrosion; some areas treated with bond/filler to address rust spots. Side and rear door latch mechanisms need fixing (fine when locked).Electrics:All electrical components work as expected/intended.Interior:The converted rear section was done to a basic standard and has started to come away (e.g., carpeted roof needs re-fixing).Basic bed included.Cabin is in decent condition; non-smoker owner, no pets.Mechanical:Engine starts and runs smoothly, idles nicely, maintains revs perfectly, and drives well.Gearbox functions well; all gears engage including reverse, clutch is responsive and drives smoothly.Brakes work absolutely fine. Although brake pipe corroded and will need replacing. Tyres were changed shortly before being taken off the road; all in good condition and hold pressure.Other Notes:Comes with original Mercedes keySome paperwork available detailing work completed on the van.Ideal project van.
