It’s mostly been sitting unused in our yard since 2023, as our recent fleet upgrade has made it surplus to our needs.
BAD BITSThe engine management light is on, and a diagnostic scan shows the error code P0672, indicating a failure in the glow plug circuit for cylinder 2. However, the van starts and runs without any noticeable problems. The engine warning light (EML) only comes on when starting the van cold, but the engine itself fires up and runs normally. Clearing the codes with a reader temporarily turns off the EML, but it returns the next day when starting cold again. The van drives as expected with no noticeable issues. This suggests a faulty glow plug needs replacing.The handbrake isn’t holding as tightly as it should, and there’s excessive travel when applying it. This likely indicates that one of the handbrake cables needs replacing or adjusting. The adjustment can be done from inside the brake drum using a screwdriver to turn the adjuster spindle. Considering the upcoming MOT, it would be advisable to replace the worn cable and adjust the other side as well. You might also consider replacing the brake shoes, which isn’t too expensive, for optimal braking performance.
The rear rolling shutter door isn’t closing flush because a wire has broken on one side. As you can see in the images, the door still functions and remains securely in both the open and locked positions while driving. Whether this is a concern depends on how you use the van and your personal preferences.
The nearside (N/S) wing mirror is an aftermarket part, and while the mirror itself functions properly, the indicator on that side flashes rapidly as if a bulb is out, even though all bulbs are working. This could potentially be caused by a voltage difference in the indicator circuit of the aftermarket mirror.
The driver’s side tyre is scrubbed slightly, indicating the vehicle’s wheel alignment (tracking) needs to be adjusted.The front driver’s side wing has a dent (see image). The box body of the van also has several scratches, which is typical for a Luton van of this age (see images).

As with any 9-year-old vehicle, there might be other unforeseen issues that we haven’t identified, especially since the van has been parked for some time.We’ve priced this van competitively, with no VAT to be added to the final price. For reference, we recently sold a similar van with 135,000 miles on it for £7,000, despite it having damage to the roof pod.
